Little Love Crossword: Tips
Start with Tip 1 and keep going until you get the guidance you're looking for. Tips 1-12 are for the crossword in the centerspread. Tips 13-18 are for the Word Ladder on the back page.

By now, you’ve found 5 editions of the magazine from your partner. Make sure you have all of them handy as you solve the crossword.

Work through the clues for the crossword puzzle. Each clue references a magazine edition and indicates how many letters the answer is.
If you're looking for a hint for a specific clue, here's where to look:
- 1 across → Tip 3
- 2 across → Tip 4

- 1 down → Tip 6
- 4 down → Tip 7
- 5 down → Tip 8
- 6 down → Tip 9
- 7 down → Tip 10

For 1 across, look at page 1 of the Home edition. Your partner wrote about an object. What color is that object?
P.S. That color is also heavily featured in the cover of the Home magazine.

For 2 across, look at page 1 of the Business edition. Your partner wrote about a favorite way to start the day. How big is that moment?
P.S. You'll want to find a synonym. It's a term that you mind find in a business article...

For 3 across, look at page 2 of the Business edition. What level of skill does the "You" panel represent? What's a three letter word that comes last in the sequence "beginner, intermediate, ____?

For 1 down, look at page 1 of the Business edition. Your partner wrote about a routine. What time of day does that routine take place? What's a two letter acronym for wishing someone a "good" time of that day?

For 4 down, look at page 1 of the Travel edition. Your partner wrote about a place you went. What do you go on when you travel somewhere?

For 5 down, look at page 2 of the Travel edition. What language is spoken in the place you wrote about? What's an off-white color in that language?
P.S. It's a bit of an obscure word but it does appear in an earlier edition of The Household Herald. Find the edition that speaks about colors...

For 6 down, look at page 2 of the Lifestyle edition. What's another word for this version of you?
P.S. This sort of drawing might appear in a comic book.

For 8 down, look at page 1 of the Lifestyle edition. Your partner wrote about a time you set a boundary or turned something down. What's a two letter word people say when they don't want something?

The answers to the crossword clues are:

Once you've filled in each letter, there will be 9 unused squares. Shade those in and see what shape is shown. The next tip will reveal what it looks like...

Here's what the completed crossword looks like. Use this shape as the first word in the Word Ladder on the back page of the newspaper.

Start the Word Ladder with the shape you revealed from the crossword (HEART). Then, use one of the four clues provided to transform HEART into a new word.

To transform HEART into a new word, use the clue that says "move the first letter to the end." The new word is EARTH. Write this on the second line and find a clue that transforms EARTH to a new word.

To transform EARTH into a new word, use the clue that says "Take the planet that comes before it." The new word is VENUS. Write this on the third line and find a clue that transforms VENUS to a new word.

To transform VENUS into a new word, use the clue that says "Take the culture this goddess is from." The new word is ROMAN. Write this on the fourth line and find a clue that transforms ROMAN to a new word.

There's only one clue left: "Add the letters TICS to the end." This transforms ROMAN to ROMANTICS. Write this on the final line.
